Media Brainwashing:
This is evident with most female who are apart of the club.  Females are all caught up in the decency of themselves that they lose sight of the things that they cherish such as family and the house. The females who are apart of the Junior League club seem to focus on one thing, that being Hilly and her opinion. None do seem to have their own opinion, and dont care enough to.That being said, Skeeter had one which made her the outcast. Killy is the Media output and Skeeter didnt bite.

Fear of Truth:
This shows in the scene where Mr. Winsworth (Stuarts dad) and Mr. Phelan talk politics and tell each other what they actually feel about the civil rights movement.  They both agree that it is wrong, but neither decides to do anything about it, simply because the fear of what would happen if they stood up for anyone.
